A Quick Note on Labeling

Not all grassfed beef is the same.

You may see a package labeled grassfed in the grocery store and assume the beef is fed only grass.  This may or may not be the case. Some grassfed beef will spend some time on grass but be finished on grain/corn. To get beef which is fed only grass, look for a grass finished label.  CRC Beef is grass finished. Our beef is never fed any grain or grain product. Our calves' diet consists of mother's milk and grass for their first 7 months. They are then weaned and placed on an alfalfa diet through the winter. In the spring, usually May 1 they are put on grass until processing.
